Front-End Developer (Shopify)

Frontend Developer (Shopify)

A bit about the work

Great front-end work turns a design into something people want to use: fast, polished, and true to what the designer intended. On Shopify, it’s where the storefront lives—the theme, the interactions, and the details that make a store feel effortless to shop.

Getting a build pixel-accurate, responsive, and quick, then adding the interactions that bring it to life, is a satisfying craft. Knowing Shopify inside out helps turn a decent storefront into a brilliant one.

Who are we?

We’re an e-commerce development agency working with DTC and retail brands. Our clients range from traditional retailers looking for a fully managed service to businesses with unusual products and specific storefront needs.

We’re growing, and this role covers a mix of project and retainer work: new storefront builds alongside improvements for long-standing clients.

What is the job?

You’ll work as part of the development team, reporting to the Head of Development and, depending on the project, a Senior Frontend Developer. This is a hands-on role building fast, polished Shopify storefronts and keeping clients’ sites in great shape.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Translating Figma designs into pixel-accurate, responsive, accessible front ends.
  • Working on new builds, features, improvements, and fixes across project and retainer work.
  • Helping clients understand Shopify, what’s possible on the platform, and how to get the most from it.
  • Writing clean, documented, maintainable code.
  • Fixing bugs and helping keep themes and the codebase healthy.
  • Contributing to development meetings and providing honest estimates and milestone updates.
  • Occasionally working on internal projects and tools.

Who are we looking for?

Ideally, you’re an effective mid-level front-end developer with a couple of years of commercial experience. We’re also open to a talented junior who’s ready to contribute and grow.

If you’re an in-house developer looking for more variety and interested in agency life, this could be a good fit.

The essentials:

  • Strong Shopify Liquid experience; theme development is central to the role.
  • Confidence translating Figma designs into pixel-accurate front ends.
  • Comfort using AI tools in your everyday development workflow.
  • Confidence with Git-based version control, branching, and pull requests.
  • The ability to write clean, maintainable, well-documented code and manage work across multiple projects.
  • Comfort working collaboratively in sprints, to tight deadlines, and helping clear a backlog.
  • Familiarity with wikis, Slack, Google Workspace, and time-tracking software.

The bonuses:

  • Deep, hands-on Shopify Admin knowledge, including how stores are set up and run, and the ability to help clients get the most from it.
  • Role: Front-End Developer (Shopify)
  • Role Type: Marketing
  • Location: Norwich
  • Sector: eCom Agency
  • Contract: Full Time. Permanet
  • Salary: Up to £45,000
